Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) net sold Indian equities worth Rs 3,568.90 crore on Friday. That was well below the Rs 12,943.60 crore net sale on Thursday, the largest of October so far. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) net bought Rs 4,743.26 crore, according to the NSE’s combined FII/FPI and DII cash-market data.
FIIs bought shares worth Rs 10,373.99 crore and sold shares worth Rs 13,942.89 crore during the session. DIIs bought Rs 15,626.53 crore and sold Rs 10,883.27 crore.
DII net buying was about 133% of FII net selling on the day. The combined FII-DII net flow was positive at Rs 1,174.36 crore.
FIIs have net sold about Rs 39,779 crore this month. They have been net sellers in all six trading sessions of October. DIIs have been net buyers in all six sessions, with cumulative net buying of about Rs 40,355 crore. That is roughly 101% of FII net selling for the month.
On a year-to-date basis, FIIs have net sold Rs 4.41 lakh crore, while DIIs have net bought Rs 6.65 lakh crore.
